Hobusepea Gallery, Tallinn, Estonia

“There are palm trees everywhere in this country.” (excerpt from the video)

11.9 km Northwest of the City Centre is an installation that mimics the set of a sitcom. In the video, each character shares a memory, dream, or nightmare with the audience. These stories reflect on house, home, family, and migration, as well as fear, paranoia, displacement, and territory.

The exhibition is the result of research and artistic practice developed during residencies at Draíocht Arts Centre and Nordic Artists’ Centre Dale, and was kindly supported by Culture Ireland and the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.

The work was exhibited at Hobusepea Gallery from 1–19 March 2018.
